sofi Award-Winning Granolas: Every Hudson Henry Flavor That Took Gold or Silver

Posted by Hudson Henry Baking Co. on

The sofi Awards, run by the Specialty Food Association, are the most competitive food awards in the United States. Entries are judged in blind tastings by panels of chefs, food buyers, and culinary experts, so the pretty label on the bag earns you exactly nothing. Here's every Hudson Henry flavor that has taken home gold or silver, and what the judges were tasting.

2021 sofi Gold: Pistachio Almond

Our Pistachio Almond granola won the highest honor in 2021. The recipe is deceptively simple: our classic base with roasted pistachios and almonds swapped in for pecans. Green, toasty, a little sweet, with the pistachios staying genuinely crisp through the bake. It remains the flavor people write to us about most.

2017 Gold and 2019 Silver: Maple Pecan Coconut

Maple Pecan Coconut is the recipe that started the company, and it's a two-time winner: Gold in 2017 and Silver in 2019. Big-flake coconut, real maple syrup, and crunchy pecans, baked light and crisp with extra virgin olive oil. If you only ever try one of our bags, the judges suggest this one (twice).

2016 and 2017 Silver: Cashew Coconut

Cashew Coconut took Silver in back-to-back years. Whole roasted cashews and coconut in our lightest, brightest recipe. It's the gateway flavor for people who think they don't like granola.

The sofi streak

Between 2016 and 2022, Hudson Henry earned gold and silver sofi awards five out of six years, including multiple Golds. For a small family bakery in Grand Rapids, that's the food world's way of saying the recipe work is done right.
